Wastebasket enclosure

To hide the standard wastebasket and not to give up any under counter space, this wastebasket enclosure was designed. Simple in construction and design, it uses a piano hinge for strength along the back of the top section and a leather pull strap for quick access. Stain was matched to existing cabinetry with three coasts of polyurethane as a finish.

Countertop knickknack holders

To organize the inevitable countertop clutter, an oak-based “cubbie” was built. It includes two pullout drawers and several cubicles for “stuff”, and two shelves which accommodate up to 8 ½ x11 paper. The top is a remnant piece of the granite countertop that was cut to size and polished. Wood was finished with three coats of polyurethane.
