Special Purpose Tables

The piece is an example of a special-purpose table for sewing. The height of the unit was important to accommodate the height of the sewing machine while offering optimum ergonomic height for the user. There are three simple pullout drawers on the left and two adjustable shelves on the right. A herringbone patterned top of 2” wide strips of material were used for the work surface. ½” Doug fir, cedar, and pine with a Shaker Pine stain and three polyurethane clear coats
were used.

Here is a special purpose piano table made to accommodate a 5½ octave electronic keyboard with side shelves to store sheet music, books, etc. All cabling to unit is hidden behind the shelving with access ports on the backside to minimize the wiring mess for the unit. Materials were cedar, Doug fir, and all T&G paneling was trimmed and matched. This is a cute little end table that was refurbished and modified. Bead board siding and top trim was added, two coats of color and two coats of polyurethane as a clear coat finish.
